♥ Tribute to Marlee Silva: an Australian Kamilaroi Dunghutti woman and the host of Mamamia’s podcast Tiddas 4 Tiddas, shedding light to Australia's most brightest and most interesting Indigenous women. By sharing the stories of powerful Indigenous women without the bias of mainstream media, she is able to deepen the narrative surrounding them. "Why do so many worthwhile stories of Indigenous women go unheard?" 

Mami Watta is an artistic movement reconnecting with traditional knowlege, producing unique styles of jewelry and accessories that support the artisanship and hardwork of our Indigenous artists.

This wearable artwork has been produced by artisans from the Embera Chami tribe of Colombia. It carries hours of work, calculation and imagination. Through the beadworks we can see a lot of references to colours from the natural environment and the Embera Cosmovision.

♥♥This piece is part of our line inspired by Australian First Nations, celebrating symbolic colours of black – represents the Aboriginal people of Australia. Yellow – represents the Sun, the giver of life and protector. Red – represents the red earth, the red ochre used in ceremonies and Aboriginal peoples' spiritual relation to the land.
